Greetings, ya'll.

Here is the very first "Business File" in High Quality video form!
This just cruises over the basics when painting a portrait (I chose a simpler portrait for this) while having some fun in Camtasia Studio. :la:We got proper captions now!! :la:

WATCH IN 720p FOR BEST RESULTS!!

Final Result:

Photoshop CS5
About 20-25 hours!

Thank you so much for sharing. Now I don't feel so bad spending hours and hours on one work - it's totally worth it in the end, especially when I learn more.
And the painting is amazing!

this is great!
I'd like to know more bout how to compartmentalize the layers and the 'fencing' off of certain parts, etc. (if you can't tell, I'm a real noob at digital art programs... bout all I know how to do is put things on different layers).

that's nice but i notice most of your paintings are lit a certain way like someone laid a spotlight on the faces. is that intentional?

That was 15 minutes out of my life that was well worth using. I learned a lot...my only niggle was that the video was so fast it made me dizzy watching it hehehe. Any chance you could slow it a down a little in the future. I learn a heck of a lot from watching your vids and reading your tutorials. I find that I am growing as a portrait artist all the time after applying some of your techniques and using the brushes you recommend.
Thanks for all the help.. :D

As always a pleasure to watch your technique in action, it is amazing the amount of work you put into each portrait. The end results have steadily improved from the time I first found your page on DA and demonstrate that great art can be created with any medium by a talented and committed artist.
