Some people have asked how I get my portraits looking so real/accurate, and some have asked what it means to go by a "grid".
The old Grid Technique can be used just as well in Photoshop to get the proportions right, just like using it on paper to enlarge a photograph you want to draw. It's also a great way to train your eye and break down the whole image into small, manageable sections.
I did this pretty fast, so it's kinda rough and rushed... but you get the gist of it.
Once I'm happy with my lines, I discard the Grid Layer, and freestyle the painting!
